A Monster Named Exam

The exams are nearing,
I can smell its scent of menace.
I cower in fear,
At the mere scent of it.

I hear it growling,
Somewhere in the distance.
It lurks in the shadows
Waiting to pounce on me.

Oh doom's day is near,
What should I do?
But bury my head in books.
My eyes are seeing stars,
from hours of near work.
My neck is stiff,
from hunching over my work.

I guard my work day and night,
Lest exams snatches it away with outstretched claws.
It snarls and snaps at my ankles,
And only backs off with a tasty A* treat.
