Today was the day I felt angry and maluated. Seriously malu. The weather didn’t humour me and guess what it was my first competition even though it was some friendly competition. The atmosphere was the opposite of friendly. There weren’t any hoots for raffles and cheers like “Go Raffles Go Raffles Go”. The atmosphere was indeed the fore bearer of our team’s awful performance. Only Debbie and Guan Rong did us proud by obtaining 2nd and 3rd for high jump respectively. Sigh. It was a pity the weather didn’t huour me and I was totally off form. I jumped a total of 6 jumps and out of that, 5 were fouls (overstepped the board). The first jump was the only one counted. I jumped ONLY 3.81m. Not enough to qualify for the Nationals. Ms Yu isn’t pushing us to the best of our potentials. She is not keen to teach us new stuff and training is too light. When I ask her how and what should do to have the leap of faith, she answers me blandly that I should jus train more. So lame. I also know that. Who doesn’t? Kar Min believes that Ms Yu is afraid to hurt our egos if she says we jump suckily. She tells us untruths that we are good when it is obvious we aren’t. In fact, we are far from smashing. She was too embarrassed to show that she’s our coach. She turned and walked away when she saw our glum faces. She actually wanted to ask how we did. But she turned and went away when she predicted we did horribly. She is so unencouraging. At this rate, I have to train hard and get something by my own effort. I can, I will and I must do it. MAG the Magnificent is one determined dudette.
