Humph school is in again and I am dead tired as usual. I haven’t been able to post about my Taiwan Holiday coz I was too lazy. Taiwan is mostly car repair shops in the outskirts and sometimes even the city, but the city is bustling with activity at night when the night markets open. Shihlin Food street was disappointing with many small stalls selling fruit ice blenders, the giant chicken cutlet and smelly tofu. The market was dirty and there were no proper seating area for general use. So we went to the next street and ate a set dinner which eventually caused me to have food poisoning. The milk tea was the suspected culprit. I had 3 cups of milk tea with pearls in 2 days and that is my current record for milk tea.

The best night market for shopping was in FongJia in Taichung. Most shoes were only about NT250 which is about SGD12.50. Haha. Unfortunately, my feet has too common a size so the 3 pairs I liked had no more size. Taiwanese ladies have really small feet and some designs of shoes only had a max size of 24. I bought a shirt with a cute giraffe made of ‘fake fur’ for NT150!! It was a push cart and it was apparently illegal coz the push cart disappeared after we went for dessert coz the police came to raid the area. Haha. Ain’t I lucky?? I managed to get a short white jacket to match the black giraffe shirt. I am so in love with shopping!

We went to visit Fo Kuang Shan to see the Buddhist relics and the 3 giant statues of Buddha. Fo Kuang Shan is made up of 5 small mountains. The statues were made of gold and glimmered in the candle light in the temple. One small mountain was lined with Buddha in different poses. Well I struck a pose next to Buddha too!

I will upload more pictures and give a short commentary on the sights and sounds of Taiwan so you will definitely wish you could go there (with me!!).

And I forgot to say that I was mistaken for a Taiwanese in Kaohshiung city until I spoke a smattering of English. Haha. Oh and a Japanese lady in ChinaTrust Hotel asked me genially in Japanese whether I came from Japan. So I replied her in English and told her I am from Singapore and she laughed. Hohoho. Hmm I sure have many nationalities coz even the nasi lemak stall keeper in republic food court mistook me for a kid from Hong Kong. This is getting weirder by the moment.

Psst I am blogging in the school library during Physics free block coz the teacher didn’t come again. Heee life cannot be getting any better.

P.S I had a new P.B for triple jump which is 8.78m. But my long jump is screwed. I hope I can do better for Saturday and Sunday’s Nat Juniors. Jia you MAG!!!
